The Cedar Tree is one of Manchester’s gems. The food here is great and its nice to see somewhere cooking Lebanese food as it is very easy to get tired of the usual Italian/Indian/Chinese triumvirate. The atmosphere is incredibly laid back… so much so that sometimes you may have to wait for your food. However, the food tends to be worth the wait. The Cedar Tree is also very reasonable on the pocket, so don’t start stomping around if things aren’t silver service (indeed, the cutlery might not even match). This is not a place to go on a first date as its a bit scruffy. It is advised that you go here with a group of friends or take a partner when you fancy a change of scenery. You can take your own booze, which again, only adds to the cheapness of a night here. It’s a really great place to pop into and located on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter, meaning that, should you have some cash left over, there’s loads of places nearby where you can spoil yourself with a cocktail or two. A must visit. |

My first of Lebanese food occurred here, at Cedar Tree. I decided to top my friend who also wanted to go there. I went there on my own and had a tasty and freshly cooked meal. If my memory is correct, I had stuffed wine leaves for a starter, followed by a lamb dish. The only thing to bear in mind is that they don’t serve wine by glass. You can buy a full bottle, but if you’re dining on your own it may be a bit too much. Cedar Tree is very conveniently located in Thomas St, a short walk from bars and clubs in Norther Quarter. Certainly a place to consider when you plan a night out in one of town’s best-loved parts. |

Lebanese food here was lovely and cooked fresh (as promised). They also do a takeaway service which is just as tasty and fresh. Service can be slow, in fact VERY slow at times, but food when it comes makes up for it. Worth a try, but be patient! |

My mouth is watering just from the thought of it….freshly cooked Lebanese food to make your mouth water. Like all of my fave places, the staff here are great and don’t mind if you descend unannounced with a huge group of mates. Another bonus is that they’ll russle up almost anything within reason to keep you happy. |
